Job Summary
The primary function of this high-level position is to service and sell to the customers at the sit-down area and/or by email or telephone by providing the customer with accurate travel information and arrangements. This position places the highest emphasis on sales. Consultants will be required to produce a minimum commission amount that is determined by their wages.

- High school diploma or general education degree and previous related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read, write, and orally communicate with English as the essential language, as well as the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
- Ability to use personal computer including Outlook, Excel, and Skype.
- Personal characteristics of being alert to details and conscientious to perform quality services.
- Interpersonal skills needed to interact with associate employees, members, non-members and outside organizations.
- Organizational skills required to perform operational tasks.
- Available to work additional hours and weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Sell walk-in, email and telephone customers travel products by providing appropriate and accurate information meeting/exceeding all of the customers’ needs.
- Book hotel, car, AAA group departures, airline, cruise, tour and rail reservations for global destinations utilizing the most current automation.
- Cross-sell all AAA Reading Berks' products and AAA member benefits.
- Complete any educational testing and training required by AAA.
- Resolve customer complaints.
- Attend vendor training sessions and educational familiarization tours as required
- Escort AAA group departures as requested.
- Perform any other duties as may be requested by management so as to effect safe, efficient fulfillment of job responsibilities. The above statements shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements inherent in this job, and may be modified by management as required.
The job is satisfactory when:
- Reservations services are consistently performed according to AAA Reading-Berks quality service and accuracy standards.
- Frequency of reasonable complaints from customers and/or vendors due to inadequate services is minimal.
- Walk-in, electronic and telephone service consistently meet AAA Reading-Berks expectations and are performed according to AAA Reading-Berks procedure.
- Customer inquiries and requests for information and services are promptly handled according to prescribed procedures.
- Sale items are reconciled.
- Invoicing & documentation is performed with accuracy and according to prescribed procedures.
- Escorting of group departures receive good to excellent ratings.
- Commission versus salary meets requirement of a minimum of two and three-quarters (2¾) times current salary.
