Summary
Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the organization’s Insurance product line. This role is responsible for driving agency growth, profitability, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance across all insurance operations. The Director develops long term business strategies, leads high performing teams, manages partner relationships, and ensures that AAA members receive exceptional service and value in all insurance related interactions.
The position oversees all agency functions—including sales, service, carrier relations, marketing alignment, compliance, and agency financial performance—and serves as the senior spokesperson on insurance matters for the organization.

- Education and/or Experience
- A combination of higher education and/or insurance industry leadership experience will be required. Advanced designations are a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads team.
- Leads, mentors, and develops a high performing, customer centric Insurance Services team.
- Works with all team members in order to achieve business line results, create a team atmosphere. Track all production and ensure that all agents are contributing to the overall success.
- Collaborates with Executive Management on annual budget and business plan along with strategies for growing the Insurance Agency. Assure growth of commissions, and control expenses to achieve overall business line success.
- Plans work schedules for employees.
- Reconciles earned commissions for sales personnel.
- Motivates and cross-trains staff.
- Ensures timely completion and tracking of continuing education and licensing requirements for all relevant employees.
- Oversees and coordinates commercial insurance policies for AAARB and other corporate entities as assigned.
- Establishes performance expectations and goals for all insurance roles; monitors production levels, metrics, and compliance requirements.
- Reviews operational and sales activity reports to ensure timely processing of service work, achievement of sales goals, and accurate financial transactions.
- Develops, updates, and enforces policies and procedures for all insurance operations while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
- Ensures positive customer experience with company.
- Works with EVP/COO to negotiate agreements, commissions, and contract terms with insurance carriers to ensure competitive offerings and favorable partnership terms.
- Monitors carrier performance, underwriting trends, market conditions, and emerging risks to inform strategic decision making.
- Troubleshoots and resolves client issues, complaints and problems.
- Works with marketing to design and implement a comprehensive marketing plan for the agency ensuring maximum value to AAA Insurance.
- Attendance is an essential function of the job.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Property, Casualty, Life & Health licenses are required; extensive knowledge of insurance and management systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and all applicable Insurance Agency software.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Communicates clearly and concisely with all levels of an organization both internally and externally. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to interpret trends and analyze data in order to reach sound business decisions.

Supervisory Responsibilities
